SD Donate to Little Havens Childrens’ Hospice

SD School of Martial Arts Parents’ Committee invited Tricia Norris, fundraising co-ordinator for Little Havens Childrens’ Hospice, to the Martial Arts Centre for Excellence in Eastgates, Colchester at the weekend.

The parents committee had raised an amazing £232 for the well deserving local charity at the clubs’ recent Presentation/awards evening held at the Officers Club in Colchester.

They raised the money for the donation by selling raffle tickets to the 200 SDSMA members that attended the event.

Committee members Steve Gandolfini (Chair), Martin Laughlin (Deputy Chair), Mark Reilly and Adrian Willis presented the cheque to Tricia with the support of some of the clubs’ younger members.

The Committee was formed last year to organise club events and to help with fundraising initiatives, and have proved very successful. They have already raised funds for the Little Havens Childrens’ Hopsice at their fantastic Summer BBQ, the presentation evening was a huge success and they are now planning their next event for April, a fun night for the club members and their families.

Sean Doyland, Chief Instructor of SDSMA said ‘ The Committee are all fantastic and they put in a great deal of time and effort into making our clubs’ events so much fun and are raising money for our local charity at the same time, they are a real asset !!’
