ABOUT US

The SD School of Martial Arts was established in Colchester seven years ago by Sean Doyland, 4th Dan former England karate international. Soon afterwards, it moved to a purpose-built dojo at Global Park, off East Gates, Colchester where Sean and his team of dedicated instructors offer the very highest standards in the instruction of karate and other martial arts.

We have built our reputation on professionalism, achievements and quality of student service. Our classes will help you achieve lifetime self-defence skills, build confidence, get into shape and relieve stress.
From our Colchester base, we attract members from across north Essex who are keen to learn a range of disciplines including karate, boxing, kickboxing and Krav Maga.

We offer dedicated classes for toddlers and young children (Little Dragons, Little Monkeys, Little Grasshoppers and Kid Kick) which are designed to be fun whilst building core skills which will benefit them in the years ahead.
We are very proud to be the only martial arts club in the east of England to have been included within the London 2012 Pre-Games Training Camp Guide.
